GE Books $1.1B Army Contract for T700 Turbine Engines

The U.S. Army has awarded General Electric (NYSE: GE) a potential five-year, $1.13 billion contract to provide T700 series turbine engines for the service branch. The Department of Defense said Wednesday Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama is the contracting activity and received one offer for the firm-fixed-price contract through an internet solicitation.
