HII has promoted Derek Murphy to vice president of new construction aircraft carriers at its Newport News Shipbuilding division. Murphy, a two-decade company veteran, will now be in charge of the shipyard’s production of all new construction aircraft carriers, including the USS John F. Kennedy, USS Enterprise and USS Doris Miller, HII said Thursday. “Derek
